We don’t use them as place mats, just for fun at home. My kids are a little young for them, but I really like the idea and concept of it. Once I tell them what the picture says, they have fun drawing it out.I do not believe in showing children poorly done drawings. I believe artwork should be done well to give kids something to aspire for and learn to improve their own art skills. Yes, the art should be done at a level that they can aspire to.... but that does not mean the work needs to look like an unskilled child did them. Unfortunately all the drawings provided on these placemats were at a toddler's or small child's level... not very good at all. Because of this, I will not keep the product. The concept was great, the quality was great, but the art was down right poorly done. Plus, you only get only one copy of each placemat... so if you have multiple children and you them to do the same place at the same time, you need to buy one of these packs for each child.Great distraction at restaurants especially where restaurants don’t have entertainment! These mats are amazingly fun for my grandson (and me) to color or paint on!Quick ship, great price and product. These are so fun! My daughters ( 8 & 5) and I have a BLAST filling in the pages. Would be an awesome gift! Was a big hit at my sons birthday. Adults were interested too.She got it as a birthday present along with a set of fancy crayons and it was one of the very first presents she started using right away.each page has a doodle with an action sentence at the top "why is this dog angry" "this whale is spouting" "make this fish colorful" and she has to use her imagination to color/draw whatever the sentence tell her.A very nice gift!!These aren’t much fun, and definitely not worth paying for! They don’t have a lot of instruction, and only a small drawing on each sheet, that you are supposed to add to (e.g. “what’s the frog saying”, or “how many fish are in this jar”). To be honest you could very very easily make these yourself! (As the drawings and the instructions aren’t difficult at all!)
